Hi from Nashville

Thought I'd post my hello. I'm in Nashville, TN. I just bought my trep yesterday. She's dark blue and I love her. not sure what I'm gonna end up doing to her but I am going to be starting with a new Cd reciever. and as soon as I figure out how to, hopefully without repainting the entire car, I'm gonna fix some scrapes in the paint. I'm looking forward to learning more about her and fixing her up a bit. oh yeah she's a 2001 Se. if there happens to be someone in the Nashville area that's willing to help and teach, I'm willing to learn.

Hi and welcome!1 I have enjoyed Nashville as an area and have thought of retiring there.
One of our members, Jeff Hunter, works in the parts department of a dealer and gives us very god prices. A while back he had some AM/FM/CD/Cassette units for the older 2nd Gen 'Treps at a good price. I bought one for my Stratus and it was for the most part plug and play. That was a few months ago but if you are lucky he may have one or two left. Just do a search of the Buy/Sell/Trade forum but go back more than 45 days.

I'm sure you will find a lot of useful info here!

thanks for the welcome. I've found a lot of good detailed how-to's and gotten a lot of ideas of mods I wanna do, but my question is, I've never really done anything of this sort to any car before. I don't want to damage my car, so should I just take it somewhere and have the items installed (at more expense I realize) and ask if they will show me what they are doing and how they do it? I do want to mention that I am female and have met a lot of laughter from guys in the past when I've asked to be taught car stuff. I've basically been treated with the idea that females are not capable of working on cars nor will they ever have the knowledge to do so. Anyways, so yeah should I take it to a shop? or attempt the work myself? Cause I honestly would rather do it myself for the feeling of pride, but I'm so terrified that I'll really damage something. Or are there books that could help me learn?

Depends on what you want to do. My suggestion is to start out small and work your way from there. Remember just take your time, and and have fun. There's no rule that females can't mod their car or work on it.

Well right now I'm wanting to replace the headlights, replace the stereo (which I will be having installed by someone) and I'd like to get an OTIS all I have are factory map lights. that's the big one that scares me right now cause I was reading the howto and it mentioned beign sure not to mess with the airbag wires and I wouldn't know which are air bag wires and which aren't. Not to mention I've never wired anything in my life. I wish I had someone that lived here to talk me through it. Then I'd be more confident.

Welcome to the site! Don't believe it when someone says you can't do it 'cause you're a woman - my daughter does just fine, though she does have me for a back-up. Have you already downloaded the parts manual and the factory service manual (FSM)? Both are great sources of info about your Trep!
