New 2004 Intrepid

I guess there really is a site for everything. I've gone from a 1992 5.0 Mustang to a 1998 Honda Accord (which my wife now drives) to the silver Intrepid in the last three months. (We sold the Mustang and our 2001 Grand Caravan along the way.)

I love this car. I'm tall and it's nice, finally, to have room. I do have the infamous 2.7 liter, but I had the dealer certify that the engine was clean and no sludge before I bought it--which they did without batting an eye. (I'm going to run synthetic oil--which is all my Mustang ever saw.) The Intrepid was a rental car, but the shop is owned by DC. I look forward to learning more about the car, getting help and offering it, if I can.

I've got two teens at home and college looming on the horizon so I don't think there'll be many mods in the trep's immediate future. :frown: Although I did install a K & N filter the other day. That's a basic necessity though, right?

I have never looked back on the sale of the 5.0. I used to race it, but don't have time now and no track close by, so it was just a money pit. And uncomfortable as all get out for me--I'm 6"6". The Dodge is extremely comfortable--I tested the Bonneville and the Impala and the Dodge beat them easily IMO. Plus, I'm kind of a Mopar guy at heart. My first race car was a 1970 Duster that had a 440 in it. Lots of fun!

Welcome aboard fellow "former" Ford owner! I love my Trep, but I do miss my 5.0 based (strokers) Thunderbirds!! Nothing like raw power and handling! Although I do enjoy waving as I pass the gas pumps a lot more often!
