Post Getting rid of Fading?

Last summer, after debadging the front, removing the chrysler "button" from the hood, i noticed that there was some very evident fading from where the button used to be to the rest of the hood.

My question is, is there any way to reduce or completley eliminate the appearance of this fading? Would a coat of wax make any sort of a difference? Currently, it is being masked with a Chrysler pentastar painted to match the hood.

Any and all suggestions are welcome,

Martin
