Repainting - House of Kolor

Hey I'm planning on repainting my car sometime soon or later. I want to paint it House of Kolor "Platunium Pearl" (Same color as the skyline on 2fast2furious) I like the sliver color. I just wanted to see what you all taught about the idea, and maybe someone would know what i'm looking at for prices?

Thankz,
Xpid

Yeah, i dunno no good looking two tone colors come to the top of my head right now and i hate askiing people to edit my car for me cause alot of the time it is usally people comming in and telling me "oh why not use your imagination?!?!" So i try not to ask about that kinda think alot... What are some good colors that'd go good with a dark purple/black, I was thinking silver like i've wanted or a white or yellow. I'm wanting a stock looking paint job if you didn't know any better i really want to change this car into something special, and make people turn their heads and go "whoa what kind of car is that" type of thing i know it'll take alot of work but hey i'm up for it.. if it'll ever get done who knows but i'm gonna attempt it!

Man lol....I wanted my intrepid midnight black, but the siliver looks odd in the doors and stuff so i opted out of that. I think if you pain it black the purple will look kinda cool in the door jams you know? Then maybe get some pin striping done on it or something, or get something done to the hood. I know if you start modding, its a scary thought Hope you find the right colors to mix

Wish you luck on this project- Im getting my system in about 2 weeks about $1800 worth.

I'm thinking a mid night black with maybe the lower half a matalic silver, kinda like the caddling on some of the intrepids but in reverse order.

I got my system in. Two 12' subs and one 1200watt amp beats the fillings out of your teeth!

why is paint "expensive" right now? obviously because of the economy in general but what exactly? just curious.

The paint itself isnt the expensive part, the labor is

You could probably get a paintjob done for under $1000 but dont expect quality work or for it to last years down the road

Materials alone....

Product Qty Price Total

PBC-42 Platinum Pearl 5 $64.05 $320.25
QT KU100 Eurethane Catalyst 2 $48.72 $97.44
GL RU311 Medium Reducer 1 $46.08 $46.08
$463.77
TRC 13718 Green Mask Paper 2 $12.99 $25.98
USC 36115 Plastic 2 $42.95 $85.90
AMT PG27-2 2" Tape 5 $5.47 $27.35
AMT PG27-3/4 3/4" Tape 4 $1.87 $7.48
AMT PG27-112 1 1/2" Tape 3 $3.52 $10.56
DUR DA-80 1 $26.98 $26.98
DUR DA-120 2 $24.98 $49.96
DUR DA-400 1 $24.98 $24.98

That's if you had the skill, the tools, and the time to do it yourself. Figure at least 40 hours of labor for a single guy doing a full color change.
