washing your car before it rains

i love it when im asked "why are you washing your car if it is gonna rain the next day?"

why? well why do you take a shower if your going to get dirty the next day?

does anyone else find theirselves washing their cars at what others may consider "stupid" times?

Garage
I'm pretty blessed here in Holland, rain coming off the lake is very very clean. I can wash the car and have it rain and it's still clean, looking good. Now in Saginaw if it Rains. blech. dirt and grim everywhere. So there I wouldn't because I would literally have to wash it again. Here, I wash whenever it's above 40 degrees out.

Absolutely, I live in the NW, rains all the F-N time! There are people who subscribe to the, "Why wash your car at all", way of thinking. I guess if you don't understand that the pollutants left to marinate on the paint will destroy it, then you wouldn't get it. Also, I can wash my car and for 4-5 days, even in the rain, you can just see a lot more shine and it looks newer. I take pride and respect my vehicle. I agree though, it is just kinda lazy and most people don't respect their cars or even care, I mean, come on, that's why the Camry is the best selling car in America, lazy, boring, ignorant people.

So far in the month I have had my Trep, I think I've washed 4-5 times and I know at least one of those days it was raining outside. Call me crazy, but I find washing a car to be very relaxing, that also includes washing the Fire Trucks at work. Sometimes I'll just do it myself as a way to forget about everything else. (ok that sounds a little crazy)

I've washed my car b4 it rained and snowed. Once I was cleaning all my windows and applying rain x to them minutes b4 it started to rain and a neighbor passed by and said that it was supposed to rain, and I said "I know". He probably didn't know I was putting rain x on. I just love the look of a freshly cleaned/polished car after it had rained and water beads all over it. I know, I'm weird!

it's not wierd at all as long as your waxing after the wash, i'm on the central coast of california...not sure if anybody noticed us on the news but it was raining for a week straight and is raining again now and for a couple more days. First thing I did was slap on a layer of banana creme wax...the rain just beads right off and the roadwash will come off a lot easier.
I'm thinking about some FogX for the windshield, anybody try it and have you tried it on window tint because yes my windshield has some tint on there.

Lol you guys are not alone. Our car wash does well over 300 cars on a day before it rains or more. That is slower than usual but still goes to show that a lot of people do it. Since i get free car washes all the time i don't give the weather to much attention.

I love to wash my car who cares if it rains. My parents hate it when I clean my car they say i spend way too much time cleaning it, But when someone steps inside your car and sees that it is clean on the inside and on the outside it shows that you take pride in your ride.
