Marking tires?

To remember which wheel came off where after the winter. I heard Chalk, will that work?

Chalk or a grease pencil... I think the grease pencil markings would last longer. One is just as easy to get and just as cheap as the other. In either case, write on the inside of the tire. A trip or two through a car wash and it come off anyway.

I actually picked up a pen for refinishing whitewalls at Autozone, less than $3. Worked great. I just hope it comes off after several washes.
