Rear Axle Bearing Dust Cap (Grease Cap)

My rear bearing is shot so I bought a replacement. When I got ready to do the install I realized that it failed because the dust cap had rusted to the point that there was only a small ring left around the perimeter thus allowing all contaminants to get to the bearing rail. I went to the stealer and was told the part was discontinued. It doesn't look like Dorman makes it either. The Mopar part number is 4616560. I found some resellers of OEM parts such as mopartsgiant, but looking around there seem to be various different URLs that all look the same with just a different street address listed. I'm concerned about getting stiffed. Does anyone have any experience buying one of these or should I just drive out to the junkyard?

Available here new; none are made in the aftermarket that I know of.

50/50 on that one IMO; if its easier for you go to the junkyard; If it was me I would just order new, junkyard is 45 minutes away; I'd have $25 in gas/paying for the part at the yard etc.

Those listings on the Mopar parts sites is a network of individual dealers using the same basic website; if you were to decide to order one; I would call the number on the site and make sure its still available;; or call your local dealer and have them run the part number on the dealer locator; that will show you any dealer around the country that may have it left in stock.

I have called a couple looking for vintage/discontinued parts; and the number always leads to the particular dealer's parts department.

Thanks for the information Daytrepper! Also, the FSM says not to reuse the retaining nut. I noticed that Dorman has the nut for the front but nothing for the rear. Does that information not apply to the rear?
