Problem with Solenoid Transmission Valve

Hi,

i've got a Chrysler Concorde 2004 VIN: 2C3HD46R74H674849. I have some problems with the solenoid valve. Sometimes not always the engine light come up and when you go under 20miles the transmission got stuck in second gear. I already diagnostic the problem and it is the solenoid valve.

I just would like to know how much cost just the labor to replace that (just the mechanic job), and if the transmission has to be disassembled all for change the valve or it is external and doesn't need to be disassembled.

If somebody can halp me i appreciate that so much!

The mechanic would have to remove the transmission pan.
Remove the valve body and remove the solenoid pack from the valve body.
Then put the valve body back in the transmission.
Install a new filter. Put the pan back on and fill with ATF +4 tranny fluid ( 8 - 10 qts)
Several hours and
$100 for oil and filter (maybe a little more)
$300 for labor (maybe a little less)

Solenoid Valve

Thank you so much i appreciate that a lot.

Just another quick question: the mechanic has to disassemble all the transmission? What do u mean the transmission pan?

And the Solenoid valve, i found this one on ebay for 163.15$ , is it good as price?

Thank you again,

You can see the tranny pan underneath the car.
It is bolted to the transmission and holds about six quarts of tranny fluid.
The mechanic does not need to disassemble the tranny nor does the tranny have to be removed from the car.
The mechanic will do everything from underneath the car.

$163.15 is a good price but is it good quality?

Be sure to check some of the online chrysler parts dealer, like mopar-wholesale.com just to compare...

it costs about 400 to get this done, its worth it to pay because when it needs tuning they can do it for you.
