It is not a small job and from the looks of it, you may have a fairly large problem there (these are interference engines).
You need to take your time, remove the radiator cover, the upper radiator hose, the ac belt, the alternator belt and pulley,
the fan assembly, the cranshaft pulley (harmonic balancer/vibration dampner) and then the black sheet metal cover and aluminum cover.
Once you get down this far, you can set the crankshaft on the mark and the camshaft on their respective marks and install a new belt.
Or you can install the old belt and see if it still runs ok. If it runs really bad then you probably have bent valves and you can make
a decision from there. If it runs ok, then you're lucky and you can do the complete new water pump and timing belt replacement.
