2.87 Axle ratio

Wrong gearing again.
Chrysler is the biggest bunch of morons.
0.831 (5th gear in W5a580) x 2.87 axle ratio = 2.38497
0.689 (4th gear in 42RLE) x 3.64 axle ratio (300 3.5 V6) = 2.50796

Since the mercedes transmission has a different overdrive ratio 0.831 versus 0.689 of the chrysler transmission, the axle ratio would need to change to keep the overall top gear ratio the same.
The 300C with 4A and 3.5 has 3.64:1. So to keep the top gear the same (0.689/0.831) X 3.64, would equal 3.018. Chrysler already has the 3.07 axle ratio in use, so why not use it. The mileage would not change (for the worse) because the torque converter clutch would be locked up more often, and the highway mileage would be unaffected because 4th and 5th gear are much closer together that the engine could use EGR more often, and more precisely meter fuel.
The charger isn't going to be faster than [email protected] in the quarter, which isn't anyfaster than the 300C with 4 speed automatic.
DCX should have an axle ratio in the parts bin between the 3.07 and 3.64 for use with the 4matic transfer case (the car isn't fast enough)

If nissan put the aisin-warner 6 speed automatic with the QR25 2.5 175hp180ft-lbs, that would do [email protected] no problem.

the RT r.w.d. has a 2.82 axle ratio, not 2.87.

Yes thank you.
But I don't care for the hemi. The RT R/T (or RT squared) will only do [email protected] in the quarter.
I want a V6 that does [email protected] or better (looks like I going to get that '03 TL type S, with nav) and the Charger with 3.5 could do that if the axle ratio was 3.64 (as it already is) but will be no where close to that.

Be careful of the TL, they are known for transmission issues and rotor warping. I liked the car but was scared off by the problems.
