I've been using 10w-30 Mobil 1 all year round. (2.7) I live in Rochester N.Y. (upstate). I don't know, depends on where you live. But I think 5w-30 is too thin if you have a good bit of miles on the car. Unless you live up in Canada maybe.

Oh, yeah, I just recently turned over 100,000 miles. And it still runs good. No smoke or anything.

The dealer puts in 5W-30 year round. :)
In the owners manual it says to use 10W-30 year round for 3.5L's.

yeah, but 10w-30 synthetic runs easier than 10w-30 dino. Besides if your engine has alot of miles than it makes sense to use something heavier than 5w-30.

does anyone here change to 10w30 for summer and back to 5w30 for winter?
Yes and have been since 1990 when I bought my LeBaron. The only thing that's changed on the oil weight chart in the owner's manual has been the lower end temp for the 10w-30. In the 1989 manual the low end was 30°F and now it's 0°F (or is it the other way 'round?). In both cases, it means I switch to 5w-30 for winter ...
