If you want more hard drive space on your laptop with an upgrade, I recommend one of the newer 1Tb SSHD drives. Around $55 dollars. These are Hybrid Hard Drives with 1Tb of standard platter storage space and 8Gb NAND (SSD) memory for OS files. You get fast boot times and generous standard storage space. I've purchased at least 6 of these drives in the past and installed them on various PCs and Laptops with great results. These are 2.5" Slim SATA drives. They can be used in Desktops with a cheap 2.5"-3.5" adapter tray.

I just bought a couple of new 1TB SSD a few months ago. About the same price as what I paid for the 1TB SSHD. They were on sale.

It's a trade off. Flash memory has a finite life of Read/Write cycles. Granted the Longevity has improved but it's still a concern if it's a long term install.
