The car in question is a 2001 R/T. I would like to install the 2.7 transfer gears but I'm not too fond of the idea of the speedo being innacurate. I'm curious if the tcm could be swapped with one out of a yard from a 2.7 car???
I've read here that bcm's and pcm's are programmed with the VIN and will not work if they do not match, if this is in fact true does it also apply to the tcm?? I do recall reading that some members were able to have modules flashed w/ alternate programs(one particular case being a 2002 r/t running a 300m special program) It seems that you would have to have a connection within a service dept. to accomplish this as most would be unwilling to load an "incorrect" program... My only other question is about the shift points...are they different between a 2.7/3.5 program or is the only difference the speedo output.
Man, this was so much easier w/ my GM truck......

Thanks in advance for the input

I have the same question as you, there was no definite answer. so to reinforce the key question:

will swapping a 2.7 TCM into a 3.89 equipped 3.2 or 3.5HO work?
