Why are 2.7s more expensive than 3.5s when they are more common? and Ive heard you can make a car as fast as the dollar amount you want to put into it, Is this true, for example dropping a ton of money into a trep making it as fast as a viper?

Theoretically--

Just drop in an Allison v-12. If you're asking whether any Intrepid engine could be souped up that much, it's pretty doubtful, particularly and have it stay in one piece.

Hey AK, its the law of supply and demand. The 2.7L engines fail more than the 3 liters thus creating more of a demand for them so engine sellers charge more because they are needed more. Plain and simple

Huh, Very Good Point SXT, I never thought about that. As for the shortage, Ill probably do some googlin' to check that out. And I can definitly see that they may be harder to produce. Sucks they're so unreliable though. Mines been replaced once and Im just hopin that It doesnt go out.
