Long story short, I sold brother in law running vehicle and within 6 months and breaking the overflow tank (he never told me about) engine kept overheating, which turned into a water pump leak that he let go for too long which snapped the timing belt. Not sure if the engine is shot or any valves are bent, but I’m at the point I’m just done with bailing him out.

Parts on the car that I know are usable:
K&N intake setup
Intake manifolds
Injector/upper harness
Battery (literally brand new)
Wheels/Tires (tires have like 80% tread or more)
Leather seats (2nd Gen airbag)
Leather door Panels
K&N struts (all) w/ R/T springs (these were built with all new parts and Mopar front mounts) approx. 12-15k miles
Front/Rear 300M Special sway bars
Car is located just outside of Austin, TX. If you are local and want some of the parts, email me before I just send it to the junkyard. I’m tired of looking at it. It you want to buy it as a whole, email me. It rolls but doesn't drive.

I also have a partially stripped block/head with some usable stuff that I can strip/sell for free, as long as shipping is paid for.

Was that a Motorsports Edition or did you just buy those wheels after? Real shame if it was an MS Edition.

Cardinal rule, NEVER sell a used car to family or friends, NEVER.
It wasn't a sale initially. I had fixed the car up and loaned it to him since he got a new job and needed transportation, so he agreed to pay the insurance, etc.
Literally a month after he had it, he popped a curb more than once and it threw the alignment off. This was with rims that had Yokohama tires at 90%tread and were just about 6 months old. He called me...let's see...2 months later to tell me he couldn't get out of the car from the driver side due to the door handle breaking off. And the same thing for the passenger side. So I said bring the car over and I take a look at it. Mind you, I replaced all the door panels about 2 years prior with the OEM full leather and 300M Special/whatever door handles, so I figured one of the clips had popped off. Annnd, I was right, except he literally broke both handles when he tried screwing around with putting in different door speakers. And the re-man OEM unit w/MP3 connection that I purchased? It was in the trunk scar5tched up with a floor jack on top of it with the main harness cut in pieces, ones I had to special order to make it all work. And he also cut the 5 disc changer unit cable. Why? I have no idea as it just unplugged from the back of the main unit. The front 2 tires were already replaced and already wearing funny. He told me what happened and said that he would have it all fixed before I got the car back in a few months. At this point I lost my [email protected]#$ and told him that he would pay for the tires, the harness' he cut, and the door handles I had to repair. He agreed. I also told reminded him that it was his responsibility to get the oil changed and maintain the car, as per the agreement. Yeah, right.

Couple months later, he phones me and asks me how to burp the cooling system and/or add coolant correctly. I asked why and he said that the car was losing coolant somewhere and he couldn't figure out how or where. I asked him how much and he said not that much, but he was topping it off every other day. I told him that I would stop by his place to take a look at it, but before I can even do that, a few days after this call, he calls me again. I am told that he popped another tire and he was asking if I had a spare, which I did. I drove 25 min to his sorry [email protected]#$ with a floor jack and tools and changed it out in the pouring rain. Annnd, that is when I noticed the coolant leak and the coolant smell coming from the car. It was pouring out from the waterpump. You would've had to been blind to not see it. So the story I got was, he was cleaning under the hood and detailing everything, and he broke the line on the overflow tank. Well, he still drove the damn thing for weeks before he got a new one, and lo and behold, the engine started running hot because it didn't have enough coolant. So of course the pump seal went and he never thought that was an issue. I literally had to stop myself from strangling him in the parking lot. After telling him it was his responsibility to get it fixed, I told him the title would be signed over to him, and he would pay for the damages added on to the fair value of the car. Everything was signed over, he still drove the car like and idiot, and I walked away from it all. Oh, it was at this point I learned he finally had the oil changed...12k is how long he went in between.

Jump ahead 2-3 months, he starts calling and begging for my help (and him driving the car like a damn fool with it leaking coolant) as the car stopped running completely. He had it towed to my place I popped the hood and after about 5 minutes, I already knew. The timing belt snapped due to constant coolant bath it got for the better part of 5-6 months. I decided to help him one last time in getting the car running, so he purchased all the parts and I made arrangements to get the heads dropped off and rebuilt. And the car sat. Six months later, I'm tired of looking at it. He's offered more than once to come over and help, but he's made zero attempts to get his happy [email protected]$% over and help, much less push it in the garage/driveway so I can start working on it. All I got was excuse after excuse. I just don't have the patience for his bs anymore, let alone work on his car that he'll just screw up again in a few weeks/months and expect me to bail him out as usual.

There is a lot more to the story, but suffice to say, yes you are correct. Don't ever sell/loan to family, especially ones that abuse drugs, can't hold down a job longer than 3 months, lie about literally everything and anything, have zero mechanical skill whatsoever, and then expect to be bailed out ad nauseum.

Did you say the interior door panels were leather?- $$?
What was the paint code for the driver door?
Also is the bezel with the a/c vents that sits over the instrument cluster unblemished?
Thanks

Mike's car is a black 2001 R/T. The paint code is PX8. (I know because mine is identical...right down to the clear coat peel) .
You'll get a really quick response if you email him at [email protected]
I emailed him and haven’t gotten a response. Thinking it maybe went to his spam. I’m interested in the K&N CAI. Could you reach out to him for me?
