Hello Gang!

I have a 2004 dodge intrepid with the 3.5 HO engine and just a couple of days ago started smelling anitfreeze. It seem to be leaking from the very from of the engine and I wanted to see what the members thought it would be?

If it happens to be the water pump, how big of a job is it to replace? I know on the 2.7 it is a pretty good job.

Thanks,
Kevin

Front lower part of the engine = water pump, front upper, lower intake or heater pipe under the intake.

Not a tough job on the water pump, hardest part is setting up the timing belt. No where near as tough as 2.7.

What years did they make the 3.5L HO? Having trouble getting the right water pump from the parts store. Mine is a DayTrepper motor exchange.

Use a 2004 Intrepid 3.5L, or a 2004 Chrysler 300M if they still cant find it....same water pump across all 3.x engines, but that will give the parts guy something to use.
