I know it's really, really early but I went on the Carlisle website (www.carsatcarlisle.com) and their 2005 schedule is out!!!!! So, the 2005 Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals will be held on July 8th to July 10th. Let's do like this year and let's start things early. This year was amazing and was the first time I ever went there and I will be there again for sure. Sorry if this is a useless thread, but I wanted to let you guys know :elefant: :silly:

My recomendation...

I think this year we need to have a bigger club oriented approach. I was thinking something along the lines of having some T-shirts made, full day of BBQ-ing, banners, Plenty of club info to hand out, and of course, awards. Last year we did a bunch of things last minute despite the thread being started in January. So I say everyone start listing things here that theyd like to see at this years event and I'll get on it early to see how we can make it happen...

Inform us about what? :dogpuppy:

You KNOW we will be there. I assume Rob will head up our effort with some help from Tim Steward. I will be running the May Ocean City bash.

As far as organizing food BBQ and so forth we would be happy to coordinate with you guys. We could have 2 person teams one from each club tasked with various functions.

Edit: I have a great Idea runnin' round my brain. The idea is based on the fact that I live eat and breathe drag racing.

Fact #1 South Mountaing Dragway sux! :(
Fact #2 1/8th mile drag racin sux! :(
Fact #3 South Mountain is 1/8 mile drag racing which sux! :(
Fact #4 Maple Grove is 1/4 mile drag racing near Reading PA :)
Fact #5 Maple Grove is 70 miles from Carlisle :(
Fact #6 Maple Grove is only 40 miles from Lebanon PA :)
Fact #7 Lebanon PA is a well known party spot for DI.net crowd :)
Fact #8 A little known Canadian porn film star debuted in Lebanon PA :director:
Fact #9 Both Carlisle and Maple Grove are convienient to the PA turnpike :fun_61:
Fact #10 There are many hotels in the Cornwall area. :)
Fact #11 (taking my shoes off) Cornwall is only 35 miles from Maple Grove. :)

Let's have both clubs try to get hotel space in the Lebanon Cornwall area. Let's say SCREW South Mountain and go do Maple Grove where the BIG BOYS race. John Force, Cruz Pedragon, Angelle Savoie, Kenny Bernstein. Yah, we could race THERE instead on Friday night.

45 miles to Carlisle.

I officially propose that it be so!

Sounds great to me don, I think ill even race my almightly 3.3 if I get whatever is leaking fixed.

I think t-shirts, and bbq would be nice. And the hotel thing seems great too, wouldn't we be able to get some big group disscount? It will reqire people paying probley in advance though, but I dont see that being a problem. And everything pat listed seems like a good idea to me. Hopefuly this year we have twice as many people, because it was a the best meet ive been. Great to match names up with people, and check out there cool cars. Looking foward to see everyone again and more in 05

Don, after THREE (3) years of Carlisle organization, I will tip my hat to you and Tim Steward on the 2005 Event. I LOVE your suggestion. Go with it.

LOL

as far as the crash place, i have to clear it with the wife (again) but i will see what can be done. i think that shirts would be great, maybe some nice t-shirts/golf shirts. i will do what i can to insure a good time will be had (like i have ever failed) :)

the shirts would have to be pre-ordered, and pre-paid. don, since your into the drag racing, would you care to grab that and run with it, see whats going on there.
with the correct planning, we should be able to have a nice BBQ on the fairgrounds, saturday afternoon/evening. the only issue i can see if we drink too much, it would be a long drive back to cornwall. maybe we should grab tents/sleeping bags and designate drivers for those willing to leave their cars at the fairgrounds. i am willing to do what i can, if you all are willing to do the same.

Cornwall is closer to the fairgrounds than Lebanon. Especially if you travel the Pennsylvania pothole Pike

Sounds Like a plan. Rob, You and Pat seem to have the IN with the folks at Carlisle. I will handle the drag racing but the admin stuff is better left to you two.
