i got a connection up in MI, some guy is getting rid of a racing motor he used in one of his cars, its a block off of a 3.3l used in the intrepid. he tells me that it has different heads, and a higher lift duration in the cam. what caught my eye was...the fact that it is a (relatively) high revving engine. he emailed me some info on the specs of the motor, cause i told him i was interested in looking into purchasing it for a possible swap.
here goes:

-0 ---25 HP @ 6700
230 LB/FT @ 5300
Redline at 7500
3.3l fuel injected v-6, 60 deg. arch.
8 quart oil capacty., no radiator, no trans,

the only problem that i see in swapping the engine is the transmission. how difficult would it be to mate this motor (which drove the rear) with our car's horizontal front drive trans? and more importantly, would the 2500 bucks he's looking to get for it be more cost than its worth (since the transmission is pretty inefficient)?

The transmissions in the LH cars aren't horizontal, they are north/south, just like in a rear wheel drive car. Many many MANY people make that error, possibly because the majority of cars are east/west.

Yup, LHSer is right...also with an 8 qt oil pan, you want to make sure all your clearances are ok. Plus, you'll need to get a bigger then stock radiator to cool that bad boy down.

Let us know whatcha do! :)
