Has anyone ever successfully transplanted a 3.5L motor into a 3.3L Intrepid? I have a 1993 ES with a 3.3L. There is a 3.5L from a 1995 ES available for $725.

Has this ever been done? Is the difference in model year going to make a big difference?

umm.. Wow that's a good price, ur gonna need another computer for it to work, and I'm not sure about the engine mounts. The 3.5L's have 3, 2 engine and 1 tranny. If u have 3 as well, then it shouldn't be too hard to do a swap.

well, the computers are different (OBDI vs OBDII), and the exhaust is different (2.25 vs 2.5). that would be enough to deter me....maybe other folks can think of more reasons that it would be impractical to make such a switch.

But doesn't he need a new computer anyways?

I forgot about the exhaust, it is quite expensive. I don't know about 3.3's but 3.5's have 3 cats, a muffler, and a resonator.

I think I payed $600 canadian for the exhaust without the cat's, I can't remember.
