From what I've read, the 3.5 was built as a rather 'premium' engine to begin with, like a forged crank and stuff. Chrysler patterned it after an Acura V6 which they regarded as the best engine of its type. Carmakers are pretty darned good at getting the most out of their engines these days and don't leave a lot of untapped potential. (Unless you want to gain 10hp with a special tailpipe tip like I saw the other day.)FraTrepid said:Thats kinda the problem with driving a trep, there isn't much in the way of a performance crank etc available for it, and not much is manufactured aftermarket, so most of your options are rather limited. yea im curious if it will work for a 1st gen too.Captain said:ShadowVox, what will a 160* thermostat do to improve proformance ??
Wouldn't do so reduce your top end??GreenAcres said:No. Lower power peak, the 3.5 makes 250 @ 6400 rpm, 250 TQ @ 4000 rpm. Power and torque peaks lower down, particularly the HP peak, make for more useful power.
