I want to join the 68mm TB club! While I'm replacing my stock intake with the K&N kit, I'd like to remove the TB and remove the 3mm "necking" that's there. I believe this is a GR8WHT innovation. Doesn't sound like much but it increases the TB area by just over 20%.

My question is, does anyone have an idea how complicated it is to remove the TB? Are we talking linkages and gaskets ?????

It's very easy to remove, all you have to do is remove 4 Torx screws and the throttle cables and it pops right off. No need to replace the gasket, it's kind of permanantly installed on the 3.5 plastic engine cover.

Any idea how the throttle cables are attached? Just want to go in with my eyes wide open and with no surprises.

There are 2 throttle cables, and if you hold it at wide-open-throttle with your fingers they pull right off on either side of where they attach. It is really quite simple, the hardest part is getting to the throttle body (taking off the wipers, the plastic piece, and the strut tower brace). I guess if you have little hand (mine aren't all tha big) you can squeeze in and get to it without taking all that stuff off, but it is ALOT easier if you do take it off.

It should be possible for the 3.3 too. When you take the TBI off open the Butter fly you will see it dose not open all the way to 90 Deg`s. On the out side of the TBI you can shave off a little metal to get it to open fully. Make sure you use a lot of cleaner and a air hose to get ride of any metal shavings. Good luck.

I'm joining the club this weekend. :D

I whimped out and am getting a friend at a nearby garage to pop the TB off for me. I'll take it home for "repair" then he'll re-install it.

How difficult?

I would like to know from people who have done this, can you feel a difference? The link above to the 300N website is dead. I know I could take the throttle body off but what kind of bit should I use to remove the material? Dremal or drill with grinding bit? And how deep into the thottle body should I go?
