Can somebody give me some pointers on how to remove my rear speakers? I had a lot of trouble with the backseat last time. I even used my Haynes Manual! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

To get to the 6x9s you just need to remove the top part of your seat. Just grab onto the top where it meets the rear deck and yank hard. There are about 5 metal clips that hold it in. Then you have to pull the seatbelts out of the rear deck. Then just pull it straight out. Viola, access to the rear speakers. Also, the seat is a ***** to get back in. Don't be suprised if that part takes you a while.

I'll give it a shot tommorow... I don't want to pay someone else to do it but I will to make sure it gets done right.

Just got the 6x9s in- the seat wasn't all that bad, just had someone help me out. The wiring was simple as well:bigsmile:

if you remove all of the bolts that theseats connect to you dnt haveto yank.............just a thought
I don't know about you, but I don't have any bolts holding the TOP of the seat. Last time I "didn't have to yank" they were metal clips.

I didn't have to yank either. There were bolts on the bottom of the seat, not the top. The clips were not that difficult with a second person to get everything lined up. We were done with everything in about 25 minutes.

I didn't bother with the bolts on the bottom. Maybe why I never knew they were there.

the speakers are top mount not bottom mount which is why you need to remove the back deck....those bolts on the bottom are a pain to get out...they are holding the seat belts in place which is why they are torqued so strong, i had to use an impact gun to remove them...

couldnt you just get in the trunk, unscrew the old ones, and screw in the new ones?
As stated above, they are top mount. Crappy design if you ask me. That's what I did at first is hop in my trunk, looked for about 5 seconds, and said "ahh ****".
