This has been one of the best cars I've ever owned. 153K and still ticking. Good acceleration, handling, and gas mileage. I've had problems with the A/C, the waterpump went at 92K, and had some trouble with the ignition, but after that it's been basically trouble free. It's almost 12 years old.

I also own a second generation Vision (a.k.a. 2003 300M) which is better in every way (except gas mileage), but it's still too early to dethrone my TSI.

Well here I am at 202,000 miles, on my '93 Tsi. Yeah i had to replace the tranny at 164,000 miles, and lets see, I had to to all the recalls, tie rods, front brakes seem to go a bit faster than they should, timing belt, water pump and all accesory belts right after i got it. UM, both front hubs, and struts, washer fluid pump, thermostat gasket, and the catilitic convertor is now rattling...to the tune of over $800 to fix even though both pre-converters are fine, but its all 1 peice, so u have to do all or nothing. And regular maintenence, i think thats it. When i bought the car, I was the 3rd owner and the car was well taken care of for the most part. I knew I'd face some quality issues, but that was ok. I was prepared for it and considering all that the car has and how good it still looks, I mean all electrical still works, no tears in leather, no dents or scratches, for 12 years old and over 200,000 miles I love this car. I'm so glad I got it, it's a great deal for the $$ and not only that, but in mostly stock form, and obviously pre-auto stick, i can still blow the doors off many newer cars supposedly in the same class. Now, wouldnt it be nice to add an '04 300M special to the family.........

Gr8crash is easy to deal with also... I got a rear bumper for my Eagle... Fair price, and he helped take it off of the old car, and swap it with the one on mine... I'm also waiting to get a few other things from him.. It was a bit late when we finished up...
Thought I'd just throw my 2 cents in...

I'm at 154K+ now and no tranny or engine rebuild.

Picked up my aunt and uncle at the airport the other day. They thought I bought a new car. Their "vision" must be deteriorating, but my paint is as good as new. Parked car in garage both at home and at work for many years so it didn't get exposed to the elements. Now I have a 300M, so the Eagle gets the street.

At 88K I did a lot of stuff, but much of it was optional. I replaced tires, struts, waterpump (not optional), and timing belt. It was like $1500 for it all. A/C went out three times, but twice was during warranty. The third time cost me $800. Had problem with air polution system that also cost me about $900 around 120K and $400 around 150K.
