'97 Dodge Intrepid 3.5L

Here's a couple pics of my ride. Gave it a bath for its birthday.

OK... truthfully, it was actually born in Sep '96, but I bought it in July of '97. I've had the pleasure of owning this fine machine for 7 years now!

Gorgeous car for sure. The white looks good with the tinted windows and nothing like room for 6 and a 3.5L to haul of them. I see the other side of the street looks like a GM SUV/Truck used lot. Though I guess the Explorer a couple houses down ruins that trend on your side.

Thanks for the compliments, gents. I'll probably make a few mods as things go to crap. For now, I think the wheels look fairly spiffy for being hubcaps... heh. I suspect my first mods will be exhaust related once I get a pinhole in the muffler or sumthin’. Anyone got an icepick handy?

I posted before, but I guess it didn't come through.
Georgeous Intrepid! My neighbor had the same colour, trim and year of Intrepid minus the tint. Your choice of ultra dark tint really makes the car for sure :)

I just love how the first gens have that wrap around glass effect :)

Thanks! Believe it or not, the tint is only 20%. Which, of course, is still illegal here in TX. I guess the cloudy day really made it look like a cave inside the car.

How many miles on yours? It looks really nice. I assume it goes inside its home (i.e. garage) at night.

Unfortunately, my original owner used my car for business. He owned two other cars and got the Trep free from work. Needless to say it is in sad shape (scratches, knicks, cuts) but the interior is pretty flawless. I just got her up to 120,000 miles this week.

75K mi and thanks... It's been garage kept for the last three years, and I'm beginning to reap the benefits.

One thing though, my C-pillars have went to ****, like they do in so many other 1st Gens. I plan to paint them before too long....

Try living in this God-forsaken climate for wear and tear on your car. 5 to 6 months a year your car gets a nice salt bath every time you drive it. Temperature swings of 40 degrees in 24 hours make your vehicle a test study in metal expansion/contraction. Frozen snowbanks hard enough to break plastic bumpers. Climbing into your vehicle on a -30 degree morning hoping it'll start without throwing a pushrod through the block. Trying to free a snowbound vehicle without burning out the transmission (not covered by warranty). Emergency brakes frozen on. Dead batteries. Wipers frozen to the windshield, and useless once you get them freed up. Assholes driving like it's July.

Oh, and did I mention snowplow drivers ripping sides off cars buried in snowbanks?

Yesseree Bob, sher is fun livin' up here. Anyone got green cards?

Probably not. How much salt is in the air from the oceans? I always wondered how cars did down in FL.

*bump*

Ordered, received, and installed a K&N High-Flow Air Filter (P/N 33-2066-1). I feel my intake/exhaust mods are complete for now…at least until I see an intake setup that will give realistic HP gains here in this S. Texas heat. Next up--a rear spoiler.

Yeah, the harsh Canadian climate makes it hard to keep a car looking nice for any length of time. Not to mention that I am not one of the lucky ones with a garage... my poor baby has to sleep outside with the snow and ice, boiling sun and acid rain, (birds and trees...) :(
