I was told by my wife yesterday that the AC in my 300m was not working, so I turned the car on and set the AC at the max cold setting in auto, and sure enough no cold air. I assumed it was a freon problem, because I have had a slow seasonal leak for a while now. I went to the Zone and bought a big can of 134a to recharge. I put it in and drove home (seven miles) and it was already starting to warm up again. I pulled up in the drive and got out, and noticed something dripping under the car. I jacked it up and investigated, and the oil from the freon charge was leaking out of the drain tube on the passenger side of the transmission cove. I have a feeling that their is a freon leak on the passenger inside of the dash, but don't know exactly what to look for or how to diagnose the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 189,000 mile '99 Chrysler 300m.
