At first this whistling noise was low and didn't bother me, but now it's starting to scare me and come about more often. When I stop at a red light, or stop sign, I hear a loud whislting noise (about as loud as you talk calmly if not lower). It sounds like it is coming from the steering wheel(? Or atleast from the dash board). When I release the brakes to go, it stops, and won't start until I stop again. Anyone know what it could be?

BTW....anyone drive on the NJ Parkway around 11am - 12am, cause there was a silver 2nd gen trep, NY plates, and dark tint, that pulled up along side me and drove on my side for about 10 miles until I jetted.

Gary - Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. On your power brakes there is a vacuum hose that is connected to a port somewhere on the engine. On carbureted vehicles, it used to be connected to the back of the carb. Now I believe it is attached to the manifold or throttle body. Since you say this occurs only when you hit the brakes, I would venture a guess that the hose or it's attachments are bad. You should be able to locate this hose by looking at the brake booster (behind the master cylinder, actually should be what it is attached to) and following whatever hoses you may find. If you see the hose is loose or dry-rotted, there's your problem.
