I have a 2000 2.7 and am trying to figure out what we want to do in upgrade sound. Have seen the Pioneer DEH-P77DH, but Crutchfield's catalog says it won't fit. Elsewhere on this board, someone mentioned that the rounded corners on the 2nd gens are the problem. Do any 2nd gen owners have this head unit? If not, what do yoy have/suggest in the $2-300 range for single disk head units for a 2nd gen? Most interested in sound quality. Also don't want "ugly" install, i.e. how bad does a single DIM head unit look in that big opening (even installed properly)?
Also, I have seen a Chrsyler 4-disk in dash changer that fits in the oval opening below the stock radio. The radio I have is the basic cassette model. Does anyone know if the stock radio would run this (or any) changer? While I would like better sound, for $150 I would get CD, which is my biggest priority.
Thanks in advance.
