Well, I went today and test-drove one. Damn fine car. Very fast, and handles like a dream. Fairly fun to drive.

Only one, VERY bad thing about it. It's EXTREMLY uncomfortable. I was VERY upset with this. If the dealer would have knocked my payments down 100 or more a month, I might have considered buying one, but for the same money I'm paying now, why not keep something that's terribly comfortable and just a bit less fun to drive. Damn I wish I could get my R/T to run like that WRX...What a trip...

A quality-less 4 wheel drive Toyota. Subaru was never a vehicle that held its value, looked good after a year on the road (keep looking at all those ugly maroon wagons)and possess any decent mechanical integrity.
The idea is 'cute' and probably the 1st time this lame carbuilder built something that looks decent, but smmmmmmmaaaaaaaaalllllllllllll!
Us 6'-4" guys would think we are sushi sitting in that puny little thing.
Definitely not a family's man car.

I got a chnace to wrestle one out of a friend of a friend the other weekend. I love the launch this car can do, but i agree the interior was designed by pygmys.

Granted im a big guy 5'11" 250 and tend to go for cars with big cabins.

i went shopping with a friend for used cars and we looked at some later-model subies. they're all the same, small and cramped inside. i'm 5'10" and only 165-170 and more often than not i felt claustrophobic in the cockpit of a subie. i couldn't handle buying one. they arne't bad cars, i just can't handle being cramped.

I went with a friend to test drive one, and as soon as I looked in, I decided to just wait at the dealership while he drove the car. I'm 6' 7" tall and about 280lbs. No way in hell was I even going to try to get in that midget car...LOL

The WRX is a nice car, tones of power. But way too pricy for what it is. And Im not to partial to those headlights.

I myself don't like the car, I have always felt the entire Impreza linup was for old people, but I can't wait for 5-7 years from now when kids can buy the a cheap used 2002 WRX wagon and make the ultimate sleeper.

Think about it, convince mom and dad to loan you the money to buy a wagon (they'll actually think you are being sensible) bolt on some plain steel rims, keep all the scratches and dents, overboost the turbo, add a chip, short throw shifter, a couple "my kid is a putz" stickers on the rear window glass, you have got yourself some good undercover racing fun.

a friend of mine has the older generation 2.5rs. the year before those ugly headlight ones. nice enough car.
he seems to like the thing. it was one of the cars i was considering before i bought my trep, along with an acura 3.2TL and not to mention the dakota r/t that made me all warm n tingly inside after testing it.
i dont think ... but i KNOW i made the right choice. couldnt afford the gas for the r/t, the acura was 10k more for the same year car plus 20000km more on the dial. and theres no way in hell id pay 33000 for that stinkin lil subaru. 38000 for the new 2002 wrx.
are they mental ????
as for the camaro n firebird. never been a fan of them. either have the ppl since they are canning the line. its one of those cars youd expect to find in a lego box with all the plastic on em. sorta like an aztek that drove under a 100 tonne press and "streamlined" it. fast, yeah they are. but thats about all i can say for them.
id rather go back a few years and find a used bmw m3 ;)
just my lil rant n rave
