Hey...long time no post lol. Anyway, I am going to switch out my current engine with a better one. I want to go with the 3.2 swap b/c I've been hearing that its a more reliable engine. But, I found this site for a rebuild of a 2.7 and want to know your opinions. It has a 3 year 100,000 miles warranty. I have no idea of how much it should cost me if I went with a 3.2 vs a 2.7. Anyway, let me know what you think. http://www.rhinoengines.com/chrysleranddodge2_7engines.htm

They want $3400 for a rebuilt engine, for that you can get 3.2 or 3.5 and the conversion kit. If you talk to interpretblurple (kris) he could probably find what you need but you would have to have someone put it in for you. You could also look at this website click here or click here

Thanks for the info! I see that on both sites they have the option of using the same 2.7 engine but upgrading the parts to a 3.2 specs. What if my 2.7 has sludge or something serious wrong with it? As of right now I'm unsure if it does but it isnt running like it should. Could I still use that engine if there are problems?

Not a bad price for a reman'd & warranted 2.7, but the 3.2 conversion is probably still a better, more economical route, but it depends on if you want that warranty or not...

are you saying you want to rebuild your 2.7L? if so you will want to do a engine flush, you can search the site and find plenty of information on it. The engine flush will help clear out the sludge if you have any. When it the engine flush is complete you might want to transition over to synthetic.

My origonal plan was to get a new engine all together. I was reading on those sites that they can use the old engine as well. I see that they have engines to replace mine....I just misread it. I intend on getting the engine flush and tranny flush in the mean time b/c the earliest that I could do this switch would be early next year. I use Mobile 1 that's synthetic. The thing is, I bought this car used at 30,000 miles on it and its now at 66,000 miles and I have no notion of what the previous owners used or how they maintained it. Other than the tranny filter change, I've kept up with the maintainance.

Hey for the 3300 i can give you a new car with 20000 miles or less..that deal sucks ****ing ass...look I can find you a 3.2 or 3.5 with 20k or less on the engine and you can get either a 1yr warranty 1yr parts and labor or i think they might even have a lifetime warranty for the engine...so yea that deal sucks ass...but thats if you are looking to swap out the engine...seriously its a lot cheaper and its a better option because there's less risk invovled.

I'd rather just sell the car and buy a newer midsize car but the husband wants to keep it. It'll be paid off this winter. He says instead of selling it, get another 5 years out of it...meanwhile I'm concerned about the engine failing...I KNOW it won't last 5 years from now. I'm the one who drives it and I've had this car for only a year and its just changed so much. So, thats why I'm getting info on buying an engine.

yea well if thats the case then i definitely would just get a 3.2 or 3.5 and swap it in because you can easily get 5 years out of it that way (if you take care of it of course)

I checked out ATK's site and their price is above $3,000 and for my year all the offer is the 2.7L and one says "197" under engine size. And the highest year they go up to is 2002 and under that it has 1 that says "215" under engine size. Any of you all know what that is? I have a motorcycle and I understand that they mean cubic centimeters when talking about bikes but car engines are far more massive.

Giiirrrlll, that car is HOT! LOL! I love it because it looks like a girl's car, too.

Hi, I'm a newbie. I just found this site and I'm SO excited! The pix on here are blowing my mind! I didn't know you can do so much with a Trep (I love saying that :) ).

Anyway, I was wondering; could you tell me how you got that design in your tail light? It looks so eye-catching and unusual. What material did you use to cut out your design? I'm not sure what design I'll use but I'll think of something. Word(s), maybe.

Thanks!

215 is cubic inches. ...You say your car isn't running right? Is it that bad? I have a 2001 2.7 and it's been great so far at 86k....but now I'm starting to get a little worried about the timing chain and all....I guess I will replace that soon. I would install a 3.2 though instead of a 2.7 rebuild if my engine ever went....you might even find a low mileage one in a junkyard...3.2 that is....
