it seems i have found a new rival for the grand prix. i am the president of the North FLorida Grand Prix Club, www.NFGP.org, and would like to set up a track day for us. it would be nice to have a friendly shootout. any info please e-mail me [email protected]

The R/T isn't a rival for the GTP at the track that's for sure. I lose by over a second everytime to my buddy with a GTP. We could take the stock GT's and SE 3800's though, but probably a few mods and even the GT's would take us.

200 horsies in the GT's right? That's a bit of power to catch up to an RT.(not knockin' them and please correct me if that figure is wrong) But that's the one I test drove, it didn't seem to pull all that hard....I think maybe a better competitor would be a 3.2 ES.

Now the base 'Trep also has 200 horsies, (but a much smaller displacement and with OHC; not a pushrod setup as with the GP), so it has much lower torque then the GT I would think. I can see a GT defintely taking a base 'Trep. But I think a maybe a 3.2 but especially an R/T would take a GT. (but you guys got us on the big boys....)

Now the GTP is a different story...I think next time I'm going for parts for the Fiero at my local Poncho dealer, I might have to test drive a GTP..you guys have me curious about this beast. God, imagine a supercharged R/T!!

Either way, too bad you guys were not up North, I'd go for some laughs as you smoke us on the track and then drown my sorrows over the beer! (you buy!)
