Yea, I remember looking at that website. It seems a little out there. But it'd be interesting to find out more details. I wonder if he modified the transmission? or put a new one in with the engine? Mabey he figured out a manual that fit? who knows, mabey I'll go find that site, see if I can email him...

I cant see using our existing trannies with that set-up. And, I wonder how much that engine cost? But, all in all, that would be one badd ass sleeper!!!

I have HEAVILY looked into this, there is a model year stealth where the motor bolts directly to our trannies, i can't frickin find what year though. That guy doesn't have an e-mail address, i tried to get it from sounddomain, they wouldn't give it to me, i posted in his messege board, no response. http://www.modernmusclecars.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=3507&forum=4&7
here is a post on it, gives some info, not much
Cost= complete exhaust system + engine, computer, all pumps ext. (2-3000 from a junkyard)

487 HP and 500 some lb/ft of torque sound pretty excessive, even for a stealth. It's a 3.0 Litre twin turbo, so its got the **** suped out of it already. My uncle had a 300ZX that had 400HP, but that was suped to the titties as it was, so I dont know about this guy. And 520 lb/ft of torque is a HELL of a lot of Torque from a 3.0 Litre, even if it is turbo. AND, he would definitely need a new transmission....I think anything over 300HP would eat our trannies for breakfast. If he did use the stealth tranny, I dont know how he got it to work, because it is AWD. BUT if he does have a 400 some HP, AWD Intrepid, Cudos to him!

also if you look around that site a lot of the 1st gen guys "claim" they have Brembo brake upgrades yet I don't see too many guys here that have any brake upgrades.

my opinion is that most of the guys on that site are full of it, they are just a bunch of kids trying to outbrag each other

the site is good for a quick laugh though...

but I was reading that allpar link from that board you posted to bryan and it got me thinking, does anyone know if chrysler makes a manual transmission that might possibly bolt up to the 3.5? Y hasnt there been any talk of this? mabey I should do some more reading on allpar.com....

yea, didn't the stealth twin turbo's all come with 5 or 6-speed Stick shift? If the engines use the same transmission bolt patterns, then there is a stick shift tranny waitin for us.

If I recall from my days working on a mitsubishi lot back in 95, the 3.0 in the 3000GT(same as stealth)sits sideways like most front wheel drive cars which seems to me would be ALMOST impossable to match that system up in an intrepid. Correct me if I'm wrong about the engine set up. :)

from what i remember the 300gt engine sits sideways. so its enigne mounts would be different and would make it almost impossible ot mont into the trep. And to make it even worse the vr4 Twin turbo was AWD.

ok, i'm sure it isn't the mitsuwhatever r/t motor or not, but by friend has a stealth 93 (i think:confused :) and the motor does not sit sideways, i'm wondering if he put this motor in & maybe found turbos that would hook up? This is the only way I could see doing it.

I kinda gave up looking when i found out about the sideways motor thing, to much work.

I looked around on the web and I think that the Stealths have the engine facing the wrong way. Now the track is about 61.4 . Maybe (maybe) you could just roll the entire motor and trans and front assy under the front of your car? Does anybody know what the track is of the Trep?

To get 500 lb/ft of torque from our engines is impossible with out rebuilding the engine it's self, you'd need twin-turbos big enough to produce 20psi of boost, probably more, with twin-intercoolers. There's no way you could fit all that into our engine bays. Unless the guy put a 3.0 stealth engine in there, it's impossible.
