8.25 AM: Arrived to work
8.32 AM: Power-slammed my left knee into the steel side of a door frame, making me curse up a storm and yell in agony.

All day at work, I limped around the office and when I sat back down, a nice big ice-pack was on the knee.
For lunch, I could barely get into the car and only with great pain could I bend the leg enough. I wish the seat went back to accomodate a 7 foot person, because I needed that today.

Just as I was leaving around 5.30 PM, someone needed a check dropped off and I was asked to take it. Fine, it's out of my way, I'll use the gas, not get paid overtime and not be able to pick my wife up from work on time, but... I'll do it... So after hitting a nice pot-hole I could feet up my spine I got to the place and then couldn't locate the exact person who needed the check. I walked (rather limped!) around the football field-sized parking lot to find it but no. Got back in the LHS, and found the right door to a gargantuan warehouse in which I couldn't find anybody except for guys on forklifts. Finally, I found the right lady and she then had to take 10 minutes to check if everything was ok - meanwhile I'm checking my watch like every 10 seconds, being kind of pissed by waiting, by being in pain, by being late...

So I leave at last and come out to see a nice scratch just under the driver's side headlight! Son of a mother! There's a little speck of red'ish paint close to the center of the bumper and some slight scratches. I'm pissed as hell at this point and the wife is getting annoyed that I'm late and that my job asks me to do these things without paying me for it. So I get home and I limp up the stairs and get cloth to try to fix the bumper a little. Basically, there's a two inch scratch that won't buff out and it just sucks. Some a-hole must have hit me in the cramped-as-hell parking lot at work and not said anything. Tomorrow, I'll look at all the bumpers on the red cars and trucks and see if there's any damage.

Sigh. Oh yeah and I'm getting a cold.

So how was your day??

I found out that a ticket I got a couple weeks ago had a court date on it of 3 days ago. I called and told them that the check was in the mail, they said "well you better send another one because you now owe $40 more since you missed your court date".

My wife just got back today from a business trip where she had to spend 2 days at a conference where she had to work with a guy she used to date (I hate the guy because he's better looking than me).

Then I took a family portrait today for a family that included a grandmother who is not expected to live past Thursday. She is this sweet little old gal who called me "darlin".

and it rained all day
depressing...

The scratch isn't terrible. You'd have to be close to see it clearly. But, I will try to buff it out a little more than I did the other day.

Sorry to hear about your situation, Dr. Dodge. That sucks!
Lucky for me, the knee is almost back to normal - just little soreness when I stand up.

Giga - rain, yes. I get depressed by grey skies and rain... Just can't take it. Let it snow or let the sun shine. Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Is she very sick?

No no no, not MY grandmother, I'm a photographer, I had to take a family portrait FOR this family. That's why it was just depressing for me, not devestating.

As for your problem, I had a guy from Dent Wizard come out to prep and paint my mirrors for me and he used this buffing compound that was absolutely amazing. He said that it works 100 times better than the 3M stuff you can get at Autozone. I can't recall the name anymore, but he said it's the only thing that the professionals use, and you have to get it at a professional auto paint supply store. I suppose if you went into one of those stores and asked what the best stuff is they would probably only recommend this stuff (whatever it is). Actually, I need to have him come back out to do some more painting for me, I'll ask him then what it was.

Actually, if you can't get it out, you could call your local Dent Wizard guy. They now have a paint division. If you get ahold of one of the guys, ask him if he will do it after hours, he'll give you an awesome deal. If you just call the main number you will get their regular rates, you need to find one of the guys and get his cell phone number and call him directly. They don't mind their guys doing side work, but the main number won't tell you that. I have to say, I am extremely satisfied with the work he did for me.

Sorry, I read your post in a hurry as I was on lunch. Right now I'm at work so I shouldn't be here! :D

I'll look up the Dent Wizard. Thanks for the tip!
