PART NO LONGER NEEDED

i am looking to buy just the autostick transmission. i hve the means and hardware and the knowhow to install it, i just want to buy it, any help as to where i can get one without paying an arm and a leg for it

You don't need the whole trans...just the trans computer I think (or module?) The trans is the same as the non-auto-stick Intrepids.

Do what Intrepid99 said. Or try and find a local junkyard and find an Intrepid ES or R/T that has Autostick. Take the trans controller, the shifter, the center console bezel.. (I'm sure there's alot more you need.) Also, the readout in the instrument cluster is different so you'd need a new instrument cluster also.

You're alot better off if you have a donor car to take apart then try to find all the pieces on the internet in my opinion. I'd try some junkyards that let you take the parts off the car yourself.

you also need the body controller. All trans are the same . so dont buy a trans

I heard that the first and even second generation auto sticks had problems. Are you sure you want to mess with your currently working tranny?

I agree. If you are going to spend alot of money and or time, why not go the whole 9 yards and custom install a 5 speed. (If it's possible)
