i have it in my 97. i don't THINK it was offered in the ES, only in the Sport models. if you look at my pics you'll notice that my shifter looks like that of a 2nd gen ES or R/T...that is, leather wrapped and with the bulbous head as opposed to shifters from say Buschman's or MathWiz's cars. personally i've never seen a shifter like mine in a 1st gen except a Sport so that's the info i'm going on. if i'm wrong please let me know so i'll know next time.

we were just tossing around the idea, i know i need tranny, PCM and TCM and linkage, from what we can figure that would be all (my mechanic at Chrysler for liek 32 yrs) he even suggested that i just get the valve body and the other stuff (he wasn't sure if that was the only diff i have to look), i know it was an option on the Eagle TSi in i think 96, i wouldn't mind the autostick, i liek to road race and would love more control

wouldnt it be cheaper in the long run to either buy a 2nd gen car with autostick or go with an aftermarket shifter and valve body?

take that $3k and get your block bored out, get some nice pistons, get custom cams made and then have someone reprogram the computer

Since all the trannys are controlled by a solenoid pack, couldn't you just get a new TCM and the new shifter setup, and be okay? I doubt you would have to change the valve bodies, since it is controlled by a solenoid pack......but don't quote me on that.....I am sure it would be a pain in the ass, but I dont think it would be THAT bad......oh, and I am pretty sure the transmission is the same, its just that when you switch into autostick mode, you define the shift points....the computer still shifts the tranny, but instead of following the built in program, it follows what you tell it to do...
