Depends on the engine, routing of whatever exhaust pipe you use, convertors left empty or full, and how the engine is set to run. I assume your speaking of your intrepid. You tend to not lose hp from going straight pipe but you lose torque pretty bad especially on smaller displacement motors. You tend to see on exhaust mods more hp than torque gains, and some actually lose torque. So you could come out ahead if its done right usually with some sort of mufflers unless your going racing, or you could break even with more noise so that seems pretty stupid, or you could be loud and slow and put a honda sticker on your car.
good article! I agree with it 100%, always have. The point to make is there will be some loss of low end if it's too open. AND we can't retune to get it back. A car with a carb that can be re-jetted and a regular ignition that can be advanced or retarded is something else.
