rest of setup:

big 3 upgraded to zero gauge

6.5" 100 rms components in door speakers
stock sill speakers
6x9 100 rms components on rear deck
stock center dash speaker
stock 6CD/sirius/infinity headunit
4 channel line out converter
4 channelx100 rms amp
1 farad capacitor

need an amp/sub to go with this setup, doesn't need to hit incredibly hard, I was thinking somewhere around 450-600 rms or is this overkill compared to the speakers. this amp/sub are dedicated so it can be a monochannel amp. probably going to have a 1 farad cap on this side as well.

best I could find going 450/600:

600 range

bazooka monochannel
ebay link
350 rms @ 4 ohms
600 rms @ 2 ohms

with

MA AUDIO DUAL 12" DICST COMP 1200W SUB MA1200XL
http://store.yahoo.com/sepharus-store/ma1200xl.html
dual coil @ 2 ohms = 600 rms
wired in parallel, load is 1 ohm

or

Audiobahn Mono-Channel Amplifier (A8000T)
amazon
# 400 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
# 800 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

with

KICKER 05 CVR12 2-Ohm CompVR Subwoofer
seen here
400 rms @ 2 ohm (dual coil)
wired in parallel, load is 1 ohm

the more I look at it, the more I think both setups are overkill, and since all speakers ~100 RMS, I think the sub should be closer to that, down around 250 or even 200. thoughts?

thanks once again, I promise last newb thread for me :)

i personally don't like not being able to hear my high notes...the 600 rms subs would indeed be overkill if you actually ever intend on listening to anything else in the song besides the bass.

HUH...600 rms is not much and if you cant hear ur highs over 600 watts to subs, you def have issues with hearing or ur interiors. And interpid tend to be BASS KILLERS, a honda civic for example with the same exact box amp and sub will ***** slap an interpid, so keep that in mind. MA AUDIO and bazooka are trash :barf: :barf: :barf: , audiobahn loud bout it, and the kicker sub is decent for entry level. and have fun putting 1 ohm load on the audiobahn amp

go with a small box sub like pg ZR or exiles new xtec sub.
