My belts sqeak like a mofo, so i went to my dealer and priced them. They said it would be $90 installed. I was just wondering if thats a fair price or is that expensive? ~Thanks

I have to replace my serpentine belt, (the one that drives the alternator) it is squeaking pretty bad, and tightening it doesn't work any more.

$90? Save yourself some cash. You can get the belt for around $15 at the dealer and it is no more than a half hour job to install it yourself.

Thats a quote to have all the belts replaced. And i would do it myself if i knew anything about engines, plus its cold as a mofo here and i dont have a heated garage....and im lazy :p

LHSer is absolutely right...i wouldnt pay someone 90 bucks to tie my shoes...its a real straightfoward job, save some bux...(also, while youre down there, make sure its your belts that are causing the squeak...the squeaking could be anything from a non-lubed tensioner pulley, or any old pulley...the spindle for my ac compressor started squeaking really loud even when i wasnt using a/c, so i just cut the v-belt...but i think you in the 3.3 only have the serp belt, so dont go cuttin anything for a quick fix...)go with belts dealer direct, too...try not to get anything that doesnt say mopar...

Another quick fix that you could try is to rub a bar of dry soap on the belts. If the belts are making noise, but are not cracked and worn out this could fix the squeeling. Done this on a few of my cars and works good, and lasts for a long time.
