Anybody experiment with the tire pressures? I've got a 2000 ES with 225/60ZR16 Michelin Pilot XGT Z4 tires. I've run the recommended 32psi and up to 35psi without much of a handling difference on the street (the ride was a tad bumpier though). Any thoughts?
I've not really experimented but I would say stay with the factory recommended inflation of 32lbs, seeing as how you have the same tire size for your replacement tires. You should get the best ride and fuel economy with this pressure.
If you have an RT with the MXM4 Michelins 225/55R17,V95 , the door says 30psi front and rear. The owners manual says to increase pressure to 35psi if sustained speed at or over 85mph is expected (imagine that). That note applied to all models of Intrepid regardless of tires. So it seems anywhere between the door label and 35psi would be fine. I had my RT at 35 for a while. The ride seemed a little harsher so I went back to 30psi. I believe in the door label since it usually takes the widest range of situations and installed original equipment in mind.
