Ok, I noticed that 97 sport platinum has 33mpg highway in his sig...

How did you achieve this? I have the same year / engine, and I get 350 - [mabey] 400 miles to a tank ! If my math is correct that means 22 - 25 mpg....

I hope he's not the only person who can Input on this topic... whats the best for us to do as far as gas mileage?

I got right about 30 mpg on my trep before its little incident. Now that I got New head gasgets and had a complete valve job done.. I am expectin a little more.... only thing I have done is removed the air silencer thing, and always use premium Gas. (non-reformulated, no ethanol)

Good Luck

also.. the sweet spot for these cars is in the range of 45-55 mph. so the closer you can drive to that range, the better the gas mileage

24 on the 3.3? I guess anything from there will help. also.. I am always quoting hiway miles.. like... fill up, get on hiway 94, get off 300 miles later, fill up again.

in town i get less than 20mpg. it blows. i really don't know why you're getting such crappy mileage on the open road. i have a k&n that i keep fresh and i don't normally do more than 75. i do regularly run fuel system treatment, maybe that has something to do with it. also i have removed the air restrictor, though this shouldn't be a major impact on mileage.

i never use anything except mid-range gas. actually the time i got the best mileage ever was on a trip to minneapolis earlier this summer when i knew the car was going to be sitting for 3 weeks straight, so i put premium in it before the road trip. i had the a/c on doing 75-80 (had to get there fast), it was at night though, and i got 31.

i do notice my car has about half the miles yours does, but that shouldn't really make a big difference either. i know for certain that my car was taken very well care of by the previous owner, that might very well be part of it. ok, on to questions...

95 Can...i'd be amazed if that didn't help even a little bit.

I wish I knew how my car was taken care of... I bought it with 99k on it. But I got a real good deal. I went to my friend's grandpa's dealership and he gave it to me at low wholesale bluebook [what he paid for it+ expenses] which was $7200. So I wasnt stressin. I also know that it was a lease car before.

As far as my mileage goes, I'll have to see what its like after my major tune up.

True statement here. I checked my gas mileage 2 weeks ago, while on this tank of gas I tromped on the pedal a lot and I averaged 24 mpg (about 90% highway driving at 65-70 mph). Filled her up a week later, tried to drive as normal as possible and and I averaged 27 mpg.

Here's my input. 3.3 with 229,00km
That works to about 142,300 miles??
On mixed driving I'll get 31-34 mpg.
On strictly highway I have gotten 38MPG
Honest .... Possibly this is due to my high flow air filter.
I also use NGK Platinum plugs, I have about 20,000 miles on them but thinking of switching to Bosch plat's. Any ideas..are they better ?

After I did the air thing and modded the exhaust I have'nt been able to keep my foot out of it long enough to get an accurate MPG figure. Runnin a full tank of Sunoco 94 octane (like catnip for cars!) I'll squeeze out 320-350 miles before I need to fill it up again. I do alot of hi-speed back road driving with alot of aggressive passing to and from work, sometimes I'm lucky if I see 300 miles!

I been using NGK V-power plugs for about 20k, love them! Gonna put in a fresh set over the winter. Has Your fuel filter been replaced? I noticed a good increase in MPG after I serviced it. The ***** had over 80k on her ORIGINAL filter!!
