Before pics:
Dull Lighting

Regular Halogen Low Beams (more yellow than the picture shows)

Very Much a Base Model
no otis or auto dim mirror

vinyl center console lit, regular pop-out cupholders, and plastic shift knob (not pictured)

Yesterday's Work
Not worth trying to pull the original roof harness from the headliner. It only had 3 wires for the lights. I just cut the ends off so it wouldn't get in the way and ran the new harness right up there with it. Nobody would ever see the difference.

After Pics

More to come..

Mods so far include swapping out the roof harness so I could add an overhead console, swapping out all 194 interior light bulbs for LEDs, adding an auto headlight switch, auto dimming rearview mirror, chrome door handles, molded style cupholder, leather center console lid, and chrome shift knob.

Did you install the in-dash light sensor for the auto headlights?

Yup. Micholob came over and helped out with dremeling out the hole for it. He also worked on installing the door handles and the switch for the headlights while I reinstalled the headliner (kind of a PITA even with another person holding it).

More pictures and still more work to be done. Today's project was cleaning up the headlights and installing the HID kit.

Before pics

After Refinishing

I used a Turtlewax brand kit. Both lenses had a cloudy look especially on the upper halves. The original protective coating was wearing through. The sanding pads included in the kit weren't rough enough to clean it up much so I took a piece of 1,000 grit and did most of the work with that. They're not perfect but its a great improvement.

And now the difference between Halogen and HID

Wish I could have gotten a before pic of the regular halogen bulbs but for some reason my camera wanted to make the yellow-ish colored halogens look pure white so I threw those pictures out.

Swapped out the 5000k bulbs for 4300k. The 35w 5000k had a blue-ish tint that wasn't very bad, but enough to annoy me. 4300k is nice and white.

Got around to doing a couple more mods today. Still got more to do. Here's a couple pics.

I'm always a fan of the later Concorde black Gage's - especially with the dark interior.

I think its going to be looking even better tonight. Got my led strips and glovebox light installed today. Also changed the backlighting on the instrument cluster from the standard green to blue last night at 3am. Figure I'll try to post a video later tonight but I'm not sure exactly what all I might have to do for posting videos. Photobucket or Youtube maybe? Either way I should be able to post it up on the LH Owners of America page on facebook without a problem. Still need to install the door lights in all 4 doors and install the last two chrome door handles.

Just out of curiosity, What would I pull from a door, to get those door lights in the back? I was considering doing that at some point along the line.

Youtube is probably easier, but I use photobucket for all my older stuff.

The door lights are the same for front and rear. Pull the lens cover off. Remove the plastic piece behind it that holds the light bulb, and I just cut off the pigtail about 6" from the light. Could possibly pull the whole door harnesses but I got these parts out of a 99 M so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't interchange. I'm going to have to run wires from the yellow and pink courtesy light power supply on the roof harness down to each door.

I also ordered some 212-2 led lights off ebay to go in place of the regular tube shaped bulb.
I dont think mine came with the whole area behind it, looks like just the reflectors...

In either case, Would I have to get the harness from a M, or could i go about my own wire method and splice my own in?

If you already answered this I'm sorry.

Yup, I think I answered that.

Been a while since I posted. Figured I'd better add an update.

Recent additions:
Spyder Headlights

Bra - embroidering was worn off. Touched up the lettering with a white paint marker and still looks good after a month or so.

Next line of mods will include 300m special edition mirrors, wire mesh sail speakers in the doors, and the interior door lights that I've been planning on for a while now.
