Went to the local cruise-in at a shopping center. I had my car super clean. I displayed my "Clean Freak" trophy with the hood open.
This show I went to, and most in our town, are a wide mix of models and makes. 32 ford hot rods to the classic 49 Mercs to the muscle cars and a few ricers. I have to say they are not very accepting of the Trep. No one bad mouthed me and I did have a few people inquiring about it.
I am from the group of people that believe if you love your car and you care for it, SHOW IT!!!
I would love to see more Treps in attendance. I think many late model owners are intimidated by the classic cars and feel un-worthy. Understandably so I guess. But my car has incured numereous hours of toil and "Customization" So I will continue to show it proudly!! Even if yours is bone stock and you are proud of it, Cruise-in sometime.
Just thought I would share. :heh_heh:

Just today I drove my car to my job sight for the first time. I took the crew of guys I work with including my foreman out to lunch in it. They were quite impressed with the sound, power and look of my trep. I even got the old, "I have never seen one of these cars all fixed up like this before". I love that one. If I were close enough to you I would very proudly attend! :)

See, that's what I love about meets like Carlisle. We appreciate each other's cars. Everybody other than fellow intrepid owners would walk by my car and not even notice the ATC in the dash because it just looks like a factory feature. Somebody on here though would understand that no 2000 R/T ever came with ATC and it was a pretty big job to install it.

As long as there are different models of cars available, each and every one will have a loyal group of owners.

I'm one of those weird people that use the same products on his "beater" cars that he uses on his "garage queen". Some would say it's a waste of money...I say it's a matter of pride. Good for you, Dudley. I'm sure your Trep was nicer than more than one of those "classic" rides in attendance.

I've been to about 50 car shows with my Intrepid and only once (other than DI.net meets) did I see another Intrepid and that was SnowWhite (Marcus, a former member with a marble white 2nd gen).

It's because the cars are newer compared to almost everything else that shows up, the LH cars are everywhere you look and they simply aren't a desireable car for performance or for looks. Of all of the shows I attend every year (pretty much one a week from May to October) I have not seen a single LH car at any of them for the past six years.

It slays me to see people oogle over some old muscle car that is filthy, uncared for and had poor work done and yet walk past my trep which is spotless and cared for. But that is the way it is. People are people and no changing that.

yea i too agree with everyone. i love my trep to death. we cant blame them for not knowing. it seems to me most people now only care for what they know which is either riced up honda's or like vehicle, old school muscle car taken care of or not as they only admire what the car USED to be, or newer car's that attemp to bring the american muscle back. they dont seem to want to learn anything else.

I parked next to a silver R/T Charger yesterday at the store. When I came out, I thought how much nicer my car looked. I love my trep.

I am always taking my Trep to the local events and people have no idea how much stuff has been changed unless you tell them or have another Trep to compare it to. That is why I love to get together with the southeast crew at our mini meets. Then people can compare the cars and see the differences.

Well maybe we should slip in under the radar. I was at the local Advance buying lift cylinders and they asked if mine was GTO? This is get stupid, first a Camero now a GTO, maybe I need to put some badging back on this thing. Of course it does say "Dodge Motorsports" on the sides.
