Was going south on 35 E and passed a New sublime green Charger Daytona R/T. He did not like it or something and floored it. So i told the wife hang on and twice i beat his ass no problem. Will the 3rd time we where coming up to a hill to County Rd E. He was behind me at this time. And the traffic came to a halt very fast. I had to get on the brakes fast in the right lane. I looking in the mirror. And here he comes with his old lady seated next to him. The nose heads for the pavement and the tail in the air. And he his not slowing down as fast as the Stang. He just missed hitting us in the rear end and goes sailing past about a semi length. Before he comes to a smoking stop in the left lane. As the traffic moves ahead in my lane. I come up next to him. And the his old lady is given him the riot act big time. The finger in the his face and her face all red yelling at him. Me and the wife just smiled at him and drove away. I thought the Charger's had better brakes than that. He had more waring time than i did. If he would have been in my place, he would have hitted someone. So 4 for me and 0 for the Charger Daytona.

No he paid more i got mine for $26,700. I guess he paid north of $30,000 some place. I have Ford Racing GTA's on mine now and i like the sound. Headers later when the price comes down. X-pipe worthless no gain over the Stock H pipe. X-35 he wanted to race at hwy speeds not me. I am just baffled his brakes where so bad. I would have guessed 15 feet more at best. Not 50 plus feet worse. The only LH 's i have to worry about, are heavily Moded SRT-8's. And the up coming Challengers SRT-8's.

Explain that to Viper and Z06 owners. It really boils down to power/weight ratio. Yes, there are other factors: gearing, tire contact patch, weight distribution and, of course, aerodynamic drag, but stuffing a 500 hp+, 7.0 litre motor into a Toyota Echo is tough to beat :gun2:

That sublime green is one strange color. There was only one at carlisle, and parked next to the multiple yellow, red, orange, and purple ones, it stuck out like a sore thumb.

lots of people have no idea how to drive a car with advanced ABS and ESP. It mostly shows in their horrendous panic stop distances. People are afraid to lock up the brakes on their cars even when it's technically impossible to do so.

As far as the breaks go the R/Ts do not have the Brembo setup standard that the SRT has, Daytona or not. Also, he probably had no tread on his tires if he drive like the jackass you describe him as lol...

I really dont know what all the hype is about when it comes to mustangs. Its one of the slowest V-8's on the road. I got so many videos of my son beating mustangs countless times with a 350Z. As for the charger, tell him to race a SRT8 Jeep, Thats more in the range for a mustang to compete with. Although, he probably wont catch the Jeep because we all know how hard they launch with the all wheel drive. I got a vid of the jeep kicking a mustangs A$$. I just dont think ford makes them fast enough for all the hype. No Offense meant by this comment.. just truth. By the way, is this a trep forum ?

Ford redeemed themselves on the mustang for making the 4.6 slower than the Camaro's and Firebirds all these years. They introduced a car called the 2003 Cobra which came factory supercharged and blew the doors of anything in its price range. The aftermarket compaines jumped on the bandwagon, and it didn't take long for Kenne Bell to come up with a supercharger for that car to put 600+ HP to the ground. Prior to that, dispite the situation with the mustang it did not seem to detour the mustang fan base. It's no surprise that there are more mustang formus and websites than any other car ever produced. There has been more R&D poored into the mustang from 83-04 by aftermarket compaines for performance parts than any other car. When you've got that much support behind you, the stock numbers out off the show room floor don't mean as much. When I go to the track I see alot more fast mustangs than fast 350Z's. That should justify the hype. Don't knock it until you've purchased one and have modded it. I did and it was one of the funnest cars that I ever owned.

Not to mention the cost to get a Mustang in the 12's is a fraction of the cost to get a 350Z in the 12's!

Very true just with a CAI and a tune and 4.10s i am 13.4s. With the new LCA and brackets i should be in the low 13.s now. Next mod Under pulley only $200.00 bucks for them. Next year light weight drive shaft and long tube headers. When the prices come down. Then in the 12's for sure. The few 350Z's at the track i saw. Stock ones ran low 14's and light moded ones in the high 13's. They seem to be great handling little cars. They should be that is what they where made for, not the drag strip.

Stopping distance difference is only 5ft. Maybe he just ****ed up.
But how can you **** up braking. Just push the brake pedal down. I raced him 3 times from a 70 mph roll. And just pulled away from him no problem, all 3 trimes . Then i out braked him big time. Something had to be wrong with his brakes. Like you said only about 5 feet difference between both cars. Almost even i would have thought. I have test drove both Magnum R/T and Charger R/T's. And they seemed to have very good brakes. Way better than the LH's cars.

You can have the best brake setup with minimal stopping distance but if you don't hit the brakes in time-- :wow: :shocked: :flush:

He had hit the brakes right away. I saw is nose dive to the ground and the rearend head skyward. But the tire smoke, told me some thing not right with his brake system.
