The problem is sometimes that people come in, don't see anyone, get frustrated and leave. IF everyone does this, then you all jump around randomly missing each other.
If you open the chat window, then open another IE (or Netscape, etc.) window, you can navigate anything else you want in the 2nd window while still residing in chat. If everyone did this each time, for say 5 minutes, I can guarantee you'd see more people.

Anyway to post how many people are in the chat room on the website? Just an idea...
There must be a script somewhere that can do this...
