1997 Dodge Intrepid 3.5L (110K miles), 1st gen,
Having trouble pulling off the crankshaft sprocket (the gear timing belt loops on - need to change oil pump & gaskets).
I'm using a 2 bolt puller with two M8-1.25 bolts threaded into the gear, but it just seems like way too much force to pull off. It's moved maybe 1/8", with force seeming harder with each pull.
Are there any tricks?... heating, lube, tapping??? Is this normal when pulling the timing gear? Have not seen many postings on pulling the gear, or instructions on using two bolt puller. The damper was easy to remove with 3 prong puller.
