So I'm on the way to work this morning. Nothing spectacular, my fiance' and I are in the work beater (1999 Oldsmobile Alero) and I see an 18 wheeler up ahead on highway 70 going fairly slow (compared to my 60 mph).

I signal, check my mirrors, and get over. I saw a black SUV as I did so, but he was WAY back there. Suddenly, he's on my ass and I'm thinking he was going fast enough to travel through time.

I get up ahead of the truck as fast as I can without getting myself a ticket and then I signal to get over. As my eyes leave my mirrors I see the guy swerve and then swerve back over. He had tried to zip around me by using the lane I was trying to get into. My thinking was "get the hell out of his way".

So I hear something bounce off the top of the car. I look around and see a styrofoam cup bounding down the highway behind me. I grit my teeth but shake it off. He's gone and I need to go because I work for a living.

So I get into the right lane (my exit is coming up) and continue doing the same ****ing speed I've been driving the whole time. Apparently an 18 wheeler was passing another rig and Mr. SUV tries to zip over to pass. There I am in the lane he thinks he owns. I see him whip in behind me and then at the last minute decides to exit with me. He gets close enough to my passenger side to scare my fiance' and I finally take off my seatbelt, put the car in park, and step out.

So the ****ing coward piece of **** hucks a bottle of malt liquor and it shatters on the rear quarter panel and back door, denting the **** out of it.

I pursue and he's waving for me to come on, at which point my fiance' finishes writing down his license plate number and I turn around to go meet the police in the parking lot across from my work...of course I'd called them the moment I saw him huck the bottle.

So...here soon the beater will be going in for repairs and Mr. SUV will be getting sued by our insurance. Road rage doesn't pay, folks...well...unless you're the victim and you live through it I suppose.

I know with the location of the damage we'll be getting a check for $800 to $1,000 and the insurance has really good lawyers that will be getting it back one way or another.

I remember just recently there was a case of a driver getting like 5 years in prison because of hurling a "missile" out of a car at someone. LOL

Damn, that's some road rage right there.

You care to share his plates? I can see if I can get any info for ya. I love public humiliation.

At first when I was reading your story, I was like, "Hey, I have a similar story from this weekend!" But then got to the road rage part and was like, "Ummm, no I don't."

You could probably also get him for drunk driving, what with hurling the malt liquor at you.

This is exactly what my sister means in bad traffic when she says, "The crazies are out in force today."

i dont think you can really prove that he was drinking it (unless he was and you forgot to add that into the story). but theres no real way to test his blood unless the cop could do something right then and there.

did it look like leonard little? <---that guy is a piece of ****.

I dont see the point of getting violent on streets... I mean I sometimes drive like a loony myself, but I never do it when im mad at something or I just have a bad day... stuff like that can end up a lot worse then just a ticket

My fiance' has the plate number written down. I have the police report number and that's all I need.

Gorm, if they catch him, St. Louis cops will probably get him for not only littering but other charges of endangerment, etc. etc. They will stick it to you however they can! Lol.

Also, 01Red, I will accept the fact that there are a couple of good Missouri drivers with you being one of them. I figure that's a good compromise!

The absolutely beautiful part of this whole thing is that I had two things wrong with the daily driver. A scratch on the passenger side rear quarter that was too deep for me to buff out without burning through the clearcoat and a dent on the rear passenger door. The two panels he damaged and where he damaged them makes it so that the body shop will have to fix them all at the same time. So...in the end the moron actually helped me out a bit. Heh.

Open container laws make it illegal in a lot of places for a driver to have an open alcoholic beverage their car regardless of whether or not they are drinking it. If this guy was stupid enough to throw away a full and perfectly good bottle of alcohol, then I think he deserves the chair!

and thats what im wondering though, because in st. louis county there are open container laws. in st. louis city, though, i am pretty sure that there can be one open container in the car per person, minus one. so if there are 5 people in the car, there can be 4 open containers

State of Iowa, if you have an open bottle, you are considered drinking and driving. This law has been stretched so bad too, people with empty beer cans in the back of a trunk fall under this law.

Well, I'm always the one telling people "Just let them go because it's not worth getting shot over".

I'm of the opinion that this guy was so pissed off I don't think anything would have changed his mind. He probably lost his crack money on the boat and found out Darnelle from up the road knocked up his baby momma in the same night and took it out on my poor commuter car.

At the point where he was endangering my fiance's life was crossing the line. He's lucky he's a coward and ran because I would have ****ed him up real bad (having to go to work gets me angry enough). I'm lucky he didn't have a gun...but like I said at that point it was fight or die being stuck on an exit ramp.
