Ripped out the back seat, and trunk to put in damplifier today, the trunk lid was done yesterday. I used 32 sq for the trunk. Also used ~ 30 sq of closed cell foam (also from Second Skin) on top of the damplifier. (the black stuff)
See http://www.dodgeintrepid.net/forums/showthread.php?t=77620 for much better pics.

The doors get done tommorrow. Took it for a drive when I got it done and to be honest.... it sounds like a morgue in the back. :)

Anyone know what this thing is??? Just curious.... looks sorta like a dryer vent.

Oh yeah, kinda forgot. Got 2 12" JL subs with a JL audio 250.1 mono amp. Soon to be followed by a Phoenix Gold 800 W 4 channel. For the front components.

Awesome! You have certainly been keeping busy! Is the wife threatening to leave yet?
Evidently not, since you have her helping install spoilers, and taking photos!

Wait til you get the doors done, if you think it's quiet now. Just watch the veins on the back of your hands, and wrists, when you do the backs!!! I cut myself in some places that could have been very bad, if deeper.

Thanks for posting these pix, and for the homage!

the black thing in the trunk is the vent to keep moisture out of the vehicle. it should have some rubber flaps that when you have all the windows up and the heater on high that should let air flow threw out the vehicle to keep condensation and moisture out of the trunk

lol. I figure now is a good time to do the trunk and I can do the doors when I get my new door panels. I have to save some money for the amp I still need to buy though. This project is already over budget. It wouldn't be that bad if I didn't buy new tools every time I start a project! How much did you say I'd need for the trunk and doors?

Okay, the end of 3 full days work. (finished the spoiler too)

Got a lot done today, finished the doors and they were a lot more than I had thought, as far as time.

I tried to put the closed cell foam on the doors but it took way too much time to make it fit. Parts had to be cut out so the panel would go back on. I abandoned it. Maybe some other time when I have more time.

I did make time for the new chrome handles I bought from Keith, since I had the panels off. Installing then was way more than I had expected. At least 1 hour per door. (Not speedy here Chet!! LOL) I love the look though!!

Well, thats pretty much it for me untill May. I have 3 weeks off and plan on finishing the front seat/floor area with damplifier. Am also considering removing the dash if I can find a how too or a thread that shows how.

BTW I took it for a drive and it is a lot quieter. Not soundproof but much much better. The stereo system sounds better as well. I would recommend it to anyone. It is a back braker though. Cant imagine doing it in 95 degree weather though. (not sure I know anyone that made this ,mistake................ ) :icon_roll
