I have a 93 3.0L Intrepid for my wife. Recently
the gauges have stopped working. Then they will
all work. Then some will work. The shift lever will indicate reverse when in third gear. Then
the shift indicator will show 2 & 3 flashing back & forth while driving. This just happened in last week. Is there a chip that controls this? If so, where is it? and how do I test it to see if it is working?

first try this

obtaining fault codes

and second...a 3.0 intrepid? there is no such animal. your only choices for the 93 year are 3.3L (12 valve) and 3.5L (24 valve).

I beg to differ. I had a 3.0 in my Sundance duster and not only did it give me no problems, it also won me many races. very strong engine IMHO. It had 153,000 miles on it when I hit a deer with the car, and the engine was still in good running condition.
as far as I know the person who bought it is still driving it.
