My A/C hasn't worked in years and after this heat wave I'm thinking I finally want to get it fixed. It is the part under the dash as it was blowing freon at me. I printer out the instructions a long time ago and I remember reading the very first step of removing the pillar covers and I was stuck.

How do the pillar covers come off?

just yank. Careful sliding your fingers across the backside, I cut myself on the damn things once.

It's a long long project removing the dash - but fun and not hard (impossible to screw up best of all).

As said, use a flat head screw driver or something that can give you come leverage. Peal back or pull the black rubber that goes around the door and jam the tool in there and pull towards the inside of the car, they'll pop out...
