I've been using Weatherbug for a while now, but I am getting sick of the increasing amounts of ads and popups you have to deal with... I've tried Desktop Weather from The Weather Channel, but that basically sucks as well.

Does anyone have a good suggestion?

Thanks

I use Firefox with the ForecastFox plugin. It puts small, unattrusive icon on under the address bar. It shows the current weather, & tommorows weather, but it's customizable to display anywhere you want in the firefox browser window, and basically anything you want it to show...

Heres a screen shot of what it looks like on mine:
It's in the upper right corner of the pic, showing todays and the next two days weather forecast.

mousing over the icons gives some more data about the current weather, and clicking on them takes you to accuweather.com.

Best part is, it's free. No popups whatsoever.

Get Firefox
Forecast Fox Plugin

i also recommend the firefox plugin. Weather Bug is one of the worst ones out there because of all of the adware, spyware, etc

I've tried both the firefox plugin and the konfabulator as well....

the biggest thing I didn't like about the firefox plugin is that I want something that will dock on the windows bar by the clock and display the current temp...

the Konfabulator is an interesting concept, but it lacks radar images and current weather conditions (wind direction, wind chill, humidity etc).. i found a few radar widgets, but they weren't that great...

I have also found a few registration keys for weatherbug in the past, which work, but once you restart your computer it goes back to the shitty ad-bloated POS it always was...

I used to have Weatherbug as well, like years ago. But like you, I got to hating the ad-supported program.

So in my endless search, I found Weather Watcher. It's just like Weatherbug in how it works, minus all the ads and crap. It's a much simpler interface and fully customizable. I'm sure if you liked Weaterbug, but not the ads, you'll love this. It's a direct replacement for Weatherbug.

Unlike Konfabulator, you won't have floating windows in the background or foreground if you chose so. And unlike the firefox plug-in, you don't have to have a window open. This program will just have a little temp showing in the taskbar like Weatherbug and by clicking it you will be able to bring up an ad-free window to view all sorts of other things.

Weather Watcher is your personal Windows desktop weather station. Automatically retrieve the current conditions, hourly forecast, daily forecast, detailed forecast, severe weather alerts, and weather maps for over 77,000 cities world-wide. The current conditions can be quickly viewed by holding your mouse pointer over the Weather Watcher system tray icon.

Weather Watcher will allow you to automatically retrieve your weather data at a set interval, display the current temperature in a customized tray icon, display the current condition image in a tray icon, designate which weather information is displayed in the Weather Watcher system tray tooltip, convert the weather data using almost any conversion, display a weather map as your desktop wallpaper, log the weather data in any format, export the weather data in any format, customize the look of the Weather Watcher interface and icons via skins, and much more.

I've been using Wetsock for years now. It's by FAR the best weather program you can get. It sits in your icon tray and gives you loads of info. It's free to download, but only updates twice a day. If you pay the $12 for it, you can have it update however often you want. It's one of the very few programs on my pc that I've actually paid for.
