Hey great to see Marlin win, and great to see Dodge get its first. Did you see Deiter Z our CEO give Marlin a hug . Great to see him as happy as the rest of us DC workers who are Nascar fans.

Hell of a way to get a win, but I'll take it!
Maybe now we can start seeing some cool intrepid stuff for sale.

What a great race! Elliott ran well, but Sterling brought it home for the Dodge boys. This will silence the doubters and critics. I think this will be very good for Nascar as a whole, because it been so dominated by chevy's and fords for years. It's about time things got a fresh, almost "Different" look. Hopefully it will be the first of many for us.

I totally agree with you JWC, it's really hard to find good Intrepid R/T stuff around. I've only seen maybe like 2 good looking shirts and 1 good cap around. I really want them to make the Elliott/Atwood Dodge jacket in Black cotton twill, not just leather. the Dodge Mechanics shirts look nice don't they?

Is Stuttgart the new German CEO? I know the German dude was there. If so, Sterling should have ran the dumb ****er over, and put the RAM head right up his ass. FREE CHRYSLER!!!

Stuttgart is the DC HQ in Germany. Dieter Zetsche, is the CEO of the Chrysler division of DC( thats the guy you saw with Marlin). Why do you hate him , you should hate Bob Eaton he sold us out . From what I have seen on the plant floor ,its not all that bad. We will be using MD trans in the new rear drive V8 powered car in 2004 . Sure beats the trans we have now. The biggest mistake ever made was when Lee Iacocca picked that goof EATON and not Bob Lutz as the CEO. Maybe things would be diffrent today, Maybe it would be ChryslerDaimler instead ????

Agreed. I'm not keen on the idea of Merc management being in charge of our Chryslers, but lets face it the ideas I have heard rolling through this forum are pretty exciting! I mean it's about time they take that wild Dodge styling and but some balls behind it. A V6 and a Transaxle is what legends are made of! This new breed of chrysler sound very intrieging. So I will have to give props to the new managment if they actually produce these cars.

It feels like the Americanism has been taken away from the best automotive company out there. And now that Chrylser is about to go under (again) it doesn't make Daimler look good. So now we can look forward to even more over priced mercedes wanna be look alikes, and still look forward to the poor dealership service? I guess I get a little hostile towards foreign materials/companies, considering that is what is slowly destroying my current place of employment. I probably shouldn't speak unless I know the facts. It's hard to say "DaimlerChrysler" when i've been a Chrylser Man my whole life. If they bring back the K-car with a V-8, then i'll be happy. LONG LIVE THE K-CAR! :)

Eaton did sell Chrysler out. He did it because he was worried about possible hostile takeover attempts from private parties (ie: Kerkorkian etc etc)

I'm not too sure if he did it on purpose or not though....from everything I've seen..Eaton was not cut out to be a leader. He was very naieve and had emotional mood swings that left him as a introvert for weeks. But, I think he did love Chrysler and he thought he was doing what was best for the long term of the company. (Though you should see what his stock options were after the merger)

Now...we have to look 10 or 20 years down the road...is global consolidation going to be the norm? Was DC the first and therefore the strongest?...only time will tell.

At first I thought Daimler would put a chokehold on any new exciting products like we had in the 90's. But with the new Viper being a beast and the Crossfire being greenlighted for production...things aren't looking all that bad.
